Taxonomy for Generative User Interfaces

about project
Personalization in Information Systems has long focused on adapting content and functionality but the user interface itself has stayed mostly static. Generative user interfaces change that: they use generative AI to construct and adapt interface components at runtime, in response to the user's intent, needs, and context.
This shift opens new possibilities for personalization, but also raises fundamental questions for IS design and development. Together with my co-authors, I developed a taxonomy of Generative user interfaces from a Socio-Technical Systems perspective, validated through expert interviews, and used it as a foundation for a research agenda.
